Mamak food at Shah Alam: Wa...which one?

Date: 30/3/2013
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Venue: Restaurant Syed, Seksyen 9

Assalammualaikum again. Today the RunningFood has decided to eat at someplace new! A mamak food stall! If you're one of those viewers that are scared of Mamak stalls because you've had a bad past about it.. no worries this restaurant will totally change your opinion of Mamak's stall both with its immaculate hygiene and equally delicious food.

SO... (drum roll please).. our guest today is very special...
Meet Jimmy and Imran!!
Apparently they are too busy to look at the camera... Imran's very infatuated with the menu. He's been going here since he was a child.... (look at that excited face of his)...its his favorite food!

Original Bukhara dishes

Indeed, he couldn't be wrong. I too was mesmerize by the menu. I knew i chose the right person to ask for the best Mamak stalls in Shah Alam.

Aww cute old Chinese couple
So today's mission will be done after dinner. Either way we were so famished at that time, I even forgot to tell them the reason why I invited them was to do missions with them. Haha...

Anyway, we called the waiter, and surprisingly he did not come with the normal pad and pen. All he brought was a Samsung S3 phone... o0oooooh! Even I don't have the money to buy that phone. Yet this waiter had it in his hand.
At first I thought maybe he was showing off his new phone je.. but then as we ordered he kept clicking respectively as we ordered... then we realized he using his phone to send orders to the chef..
THE SERVICE was awesome.. we had our Briyani Bukhara Ayam in under 5 minutes.

As we waited for our food, hygiene inspector Atiqah Bachik started patrolling around. I too had the phobia before this towards Mamak stalls. But this restaurant really changed my perspective. It was really clean!

Even they had multiple races coming in. In my definition, usually if its a 1 Malaysia restaurant, that means the food is really good.

So here's a little picture of our food and how we rate it:
Imam Muda Imran
Bukhara Briyani Ayam: 4/5
Jimmy makan slekeh

SO after we've finished eating comes the Mission at hand (GUESS THE PRICE):
  1. Each one of us estimate the total price of our food
  2. The one who has the closest price to the real price don't have to pay!
LOSER: Both of them have to pay for the meal

Verdict: RM49.99

The Winner was: Imran ( the Seksyen 9 child)
In the end, me and Jimmy had to pay for the food :(

Overall we rate the restaurant as:
Cleanliness: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Food: 4/5

Indeed this time around too even though we were friends of different gender, we had fun eating out together. It was engaging. We really bonded together. Indeed meal time is a time to get to know each. I got to know where Imran and Jimmy was from... I felt like I knew them in that 1 hour more than the past  4 weeks we've passed each other in class.

Okay, until next time then for more fun with delicious RunningFood!

Burger Bakar Terbakar !

Date: 29.03.2013
Time: 8.00 pm - 9.30 pm
Venue: Burger Bakar Abang Burn, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam

Assalamualaikum and Hollaaaaa readers!

Happy Saturday alls! How are you today?
Well...for today, i will update about our runningfood mission. Yesterday i went to Burger Bakar Abang Burn with my bestest friend ever, Nadhirah.

Our mission was Who Can Finish The Burger less than 20 minutes.

The burger was quite big and i think it was impossible to finish the burger within the time limit. But...i still want to do that mission and Nadhirah too was willing to accept my challenge. I took almost 19 minutes to finish my burger which was very close to 20 minutes. I ate like an insane person only to accomplish my mission and i think i did not even enjoy my food. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

However, it was different for Nadhirah! She can finished the food within 15 minutes which was a lot more faster than mine! You're great Nad! So..i guess it is obvious who was the winner. Our winner for yesterday's mission was Nadhirah Azmi!

Do enjoy stalking my pictures! hehehe.

Beef Burger Original and Sausage

Nadhirah and Nisa ^-^

Definitely RunningFood missions made our sudden reunion closer. It was very memorable.. I think she'll remember these games and our meeting forever..

Overall RunningFood rate this as:
Cleanliness: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Food: 5/5

BTW: as the loser of today, my punishment was to pay for both of our meals :( oh well it was worth it..
love my bestie!

Big Taste!

Date: 27.03.2013
Time: 4.00 pm - 6.00pm
Venue: Big Taste, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam

Assalamualaikum and holla readers!

How was your day? Yesterday was a great day for me as i managed to complete a mission with my Long Live Sismance group. After we ended our iko - PLN at 5.00pm, we headed to section 7 to have our early dinner. We decided to enjoy our dinner at the Big Taste and actually, it was my first time eating there. I like the decorations inside the restaurant. It was very comfy and elegant. It is very suitable for new married couple to have their candle light dinner here and I'm 100% sure that they will like it very much! Without further delay, I will tell you guys about my mission.

So, yesterday's mission was

Who's Food Price Is The Lowest?

There were eight of us and finally the winner was Izzah Athirah Radzi! She only has to pay around RM15.00. Congratulation Izzah! Of course the winner was exempted from paying.

Now...enjoy my pictures!
Long Live Sismance and Reena

Beautiful ladies!

Salmon Grilled

Romeo and Juliet Pizza

Chicken Chop

The Shop's decorations

It was a really cosy restaurant and could cater my former class Fargo which is sometimes difficult to achieve in some restaurants.
Indeed, it is again proven RunningFood mission made our relationship closer. We laughed at each other when we lose, we congratulate the winner, and we will remember this day forever.

Overall RunningFood rates this restaurant as:
Cleanliness: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Food: 5/5

Venue: Seksyen 7 Restaurant Lontong Klang

So, a continuation of the previous food. After ordering our drinks ever so conveniently from the active paced waiters.. through the swarm of people in the restaurant we managed to get seats. As wani's eyes glimmer at the delicious food, I stopped her fun with A MISSION.. mwahahaha. evil huh..

Although the restaurant had a lot of people in it, by playing this Mission we felt as if we were in our own little world so it did not feel stuffy. True as the saying goes "Time Flies When You're Having Fun"
I felt like me and Wani really bonded since now we found out after months knowing each other that I could not cook and Wani was actually an avid cooker.
It was again fun and delicious!

Lontong Klang in Shah Alam?

Date: 24/3/2013
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Venue: Seksyen 7, Restaurant Lontong Klang

Assalammualaikum again!

It's me again RunningFood member #2 Atiqah's turn to do yet another post. Although sadly today we are at a loss from the original 2 members because, dayah perasan cute went home and Nisa is busy doing work.. (ADFP is sooo hard right?)

Anyway.. have you ever woke up one morning and u feel like craving something? Somewhat like the craving pregnant people had.. watever it is YOU KNOW YOU HAVE TO EAT IT!

So this one Sunday Morning, I woke and my stomach growled for Lontong?
Funny. But not weird la because I haven't eaten Lontong in quite a long time...since in Akasia during weekends no ones ever home and if u ask the Shah Alam people what's nice to eat in Shah Alam, they would always answer IDK..

So i resorted to the POWER OF THE INTERNET @@!
typed in the search engine like loyal computer student that I am: lontong+shah alam
(haa.. I even used the tips mentioned in computer text book tau)
and the result was surprising... repetitive mentions of the same restaurant "Restauran Lontong Klang"

To this day I still wonder why it's named Klang when the place is situated in Shah Alam...maybe I should ask the owner next time I go...

Oh well.. so off me and 1 avid runningman fan guest..
Happily got food
INTRODUCING: Siti Syazwani (from Orlando: Animations major) o0ooooh..

She always accompanies me during weekends, sorta like my weekend buddy.. and shes amazingly creative with her drawings, sketch pad and pencil with her constantly..

Coincidentally on that same morning, she also felt a certain craving for Lontong.. haaa. best friends fated for life tak?

Basically, 2 very hungry friends goes off optimistically with hopes that this was the best Lontong restaurant in TOWN with GPS as our guidance since none of us are Shah Alam-ians.. both Johorians..

However we was shocked when we saw this!

Haa.. takut tak? Dah la we were hungry...
Ever faced this kind of situation before? Don't know what to do kan?
No worries RunningFood has the solution so you do not waste 5/10 minutes of your life..

Pre-Mission #1
  • One person choose one line to line up in like so:
  • Wani chose left
    I chose the right

  • Whoever gets to order first wins, this way everybody wins!
Overall, it was certainly fun trying to compete with each other.. it made waiting in life much more exciting. You guys should give it a try... a continuation of this post will be done in a next post where another mission awaits you.. so stay tuned as we evaluate the cleanliness and food..

Service: 3/5
